Gail Bessette, a graduate of St. Lawrence and Clarkson Universities, began her career in the Adirondack region of New York State as a landscape painter and later expanded her creations to more abstract paintings in various mediums, including encaustics and oil mixed with cold wax.
She has had solo exhibitions at the Copley Society of Art, Boston, MA, Hoyt Institute of Art, New Castle, PA, Left Bank Gallery, Wellfleet, MA, Anne Loucks Gallery, Glencoe, IL and J&W Gallery, New Hope, PA and numerous group exhibitions.
She is a Copley Master at the Copley Society of Art, Boston, MA, a Signature Membership in the Pastel Society of America, NY, and a Sedona Master at the Sedona Area Guild of Artists, Sedona, AZ.
Other honors include selection in the New American Paintings exhibition publication and awards from the Salmagundi Club, NY, Allied Artists of America, NY and Audubon Artists, NY.
Gail has lived in Sedona, AZ since 2009 but still summers in northern New York State.
